Educational Programs for All Ages

Education is paramount at Congregation Shomrei Emunah, where we serve from cradle to adult. We boast the only Jewish Pre-school in Montclair, and our Religious School, the Jewish Learning Center, offers an engaging curriculum, which emphasizes modern Hebrew language, prayer Hebrew & Jewish values, history, culture, & ritual throughout the grades, establishing a foundation in Judaism that our children can continue to build upon throughout their lifetime. We also sponsor an innovative Montclair Area Hebrew High School Program.

At Shomrei, children are encouraged to develop a love of their Jewish background though a variety of educational experiences including classroom attendance, field trips, family programming, Shabbat services, story-telling, cooperative learning, individual research, artistic expression, music & crafts. They learn to become active learners as well as active members of their Jewish community, Kehillah Kedoshah,  & synagogue vause vkhve.

Our Lower School Children, kindergarten though 2nd grade, meet Sundays ONLY, from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Our Upper School students, grades 3 - 7 meet on Sundays, from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM & Wednesdays, from 4 – 6 PM.   In addition, we offer Shoreshim (Roots.Formerly the Family Holiday Workshop Program) a once-a-month Sunday program for children ages 3 & 4.

We, at the JLC of Shomrei Emunah, have a commitment to Judaism & to providing the highest quality Jewish education for our students.
