It is not to late to honor our wonderful Angie Atkins with an ad in this year's Ad Journal.  Angie has touched so many lives at Shomrei Emunah, and has been a mainstay of the congregation for years.  Please let her know how much we appreciate her warmth and hard work.

If you have not done so already, please fill out the ad form you received and send it in.  You can either include a check, or ask that it be added to your account.

Remember also to list your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews in our L'dor v'dor column for only $18 per name.  You can indicate that on your ad form, as well.

"TASTE OF SHABBAT"

                    FOR NEW & PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, at 6:30 pm
   AT THE ATKINS HOME
Selichot Program: "The Challenge and Wonder of Being a Jew"

On Saturday evening, September 4, we will come together as a community at 8:30 pm, to delve into "The Challenge and Wonder of Being a Jew". The subject will be presented by Rabbi David Greenstein and Professor William Batkay.

Recent developments, here and in Israel, have highlighted how contentious and problematic issues of Jewish identity can be. What is our attitude to conversion? Is being Jewish a matter of lifestyle, individual and/or communal commitments, consciousness or action?

We will explore classical texts, recent news reports, contemporary thought and personal reflections about these questions in the spirit of honest stock-taking during this New  Year season and as part of a process of our continuing growth as a community.

Please join us and share your thoughts - refreshments will be served.
