The SHALOM Program
The SHALOM program (Shomrei Helps All Learners Of Montclair) is a joint program between Shomrei’s Social Action Committee and a number of Montclair’s public schools to provide volunteer tutors and guest lecturers. Examples of our efforts include:
- Tutoring in a classroom during the school day.
- Tutoring during students' lunch hours.
- Participating in after-school tutoring and/or literacy programs.
- Guest lecturing on an area of expertise. Examples of volunteers to date include a TV and film producer, a portrait artist, and a jazz flutist.
- Volunteering to tutor during the evenings or on the weekends.
If you are interested in being a tutor or a guest lecturer, please use the form below to register as soon as possible.
If you would like further information or have other ideas on how to help, please contact Andy Silver (aasilver54@verizon.net). Thank you.
